PROBLEM STATEMENT

World Health Organization Statistics:

Approximately 1.3 million people die each year as a result of road traffic crashes.
More than half of all road traffic deaths are among vulnerable road users like cyclists and motorcyclists.
93% of the world's fatalities on the roads occur in low/middle-income countries, despite having approximately 60% of the world's vehicles.
Delay in providing help is considered a major factor for high number of permanent disabilities and fatalities.

Currently, majority of vehicles on Indian roads don’t have any advanced system for crash detection and assistance, and hence there’s a huge delay. A vehicle can meet an accident in unprecedented conditions where there can be no one to call for help. Having a system that itself calls for help would significantly reduce the time required to get medical attention, especially if no immediate onlookers are present.

Our Solution

We propose an intuitive application, using which users can register themselves with our Accident Detection System and add their emergency contacts to our server. In case, the user’s vehicle meets an accident, an alert will be sent to nearby authorities and the emergency contacts registered through the application will be notified.
